What to do

You must send your editable, clean, Word translation file, which we will work on, plus the original text, which can be a PDF file. We will edit only work submitted in editable material, meaning that we will not handle imported graphs

We understand you may have done your AI translation in minutes. The review will take longer, for it is carefully done by a human professional. Do not expect it to be done in minutes.

No certification

For legal reasons, we do not certify translations prepared by clients (AI or regular) with our notarized affidavits of accuracy, for these affidavits clearly state we prepared the translation. This constitutes lying under oath. Please do not insist.

What we will not do

Please note that PDF conversions and some AI translation tools insert coding which plays havoc on formatting or transfer of the text in other software. Some of these files may be impossible to use, and we expect to get clean Word files from the client  

Checking layout

If your text is going to publication, we realize that quite often the people preparing the layout do not know the language. For a fee, we can review the PDF layout and make any applicable corrections. 

Further Information

You may be surprised with the types of mistakes AI does when preparing translations. That is what we check. These include translating names, failing to convert dates and numbers, mixing up pronouns and genders, altogether mistranslating terms, inconsistently translating terms in the same document, providing dry text, failing to read context, intent, sarcasm and other forms of rhetoric, providing incorrect word order, failing to catch typographical errors on originals, providing overly literal and awkward renderings, misinterpreting abbreviations, making negative and vice-versa.

Just running the translation in another computer app will just make the problem worse, further deviating the text from the original. It will just sound different, but it will still be wrong.

Additionally, the longer the text, the worst is the problem. A lot of AI translation is done in sections, and terminology is often incorrectly changed from one section to the other.
